Henri Baguenier, Chairman of the Board of Directors



Professor Henri Baguenier has more than 30 years of academic and corporate experience in the energy and environment sector in Europe, South America, North Africa and China. During his long career, he served as advisor to the Portuguese secretary of State for Energy and was appointed Chairman of the Consultative Energy and Environment Committee of the European Commission. For many years, he was the president of the European Small Hydro Association and vice president of the International Association for Small Hydro Power and, more recently, chairman of SIIF Brasil, EDF's renewable energy subsidiary in Brazil. In his academic career, he founded and directed several postgraduate programs in Energy Economis and Policy.



Carlos Pimenta



Mr. Carlos Pimenta is an outstanding contributor to European environment and energy policy. A former Secretary of State for the Environment and Fisheries in Portugal, he later joined the Portuguese and European Parliaments (1985 to 1999). In such capacity, he was a negotiator for the Kyoto protocol and played a major role in the creation of EU’s renewable energy general policy. With Al Gore, he was a founder of the GLOBE organization. He also was appointed president of GLOBE Europe and a member of the EU Energy Advisory Forum.



Albert Mitjà



Former General Director for Energy of Catalonia, Mr. Alberto Mitjà was a long-time advisor to the European Commission and UNESCO. He was also the president of Catalonian Institute for Energy (ICAEN) for an extensive period.



Álvaro Martins



Professor Álvaro Martins has been an expert in energy economics for over 30 years. As a professor at the Lisbon Technical University, he was the coordinator of Masters and PhD programs on energy. As a consultant for the private and public sectors, he coordinated the first Portuguese National Program for Climate Change and the first National Carbon Emissions Allocation Program within the EU-ETS. He was also sub general-director for Energy in Portugal and president of IEFP.



Anibal Fernandes



With a career encompassing all branches of the energy sector, he was the former director of Galp Power and Transgas Atlantica and, as such, accountable for the Portuguese natural gas terminal and for its introduction in Portugal. He was also an advisor to the Portuguese Government and other public and private institutions on energy issues. He is currently the CEO of ENEOP, Portugal's largest wind energy consortium and industrial cluster.



Armando Nunes



Mr. Armando Nunes has been an expert in Financial and capital markets for 20 years. He was the CEO of Banco Mello Capital Markets Group of Companies and a member of the Board of the Board of the Portuguese Association for Pension Funds and of the Portuguese Asset Managers Association.



Ottavio Lavaggi



Mr. Ottavio Lavaggi is an expert in Finance and Tax Systems and a former civil servant of the European Union, as well as former member of the Italian Parliament.
